Owned by the Kirkconnell family, local business and community leaders for six generations, Kirk Freeport is recognised as a world-class marketplace by international designers and manufacturers of high-quality merchandise. The company has 22 stores in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, and stocks the widest range of duty-free products in the Caribbean.

Having built the largest duty-free enterprise in the Cayman Islands from the humble beginnings of just a few jewellery counters in the community grocery store in 1972, Kirk Freeport founder Captain Eldon Kirkconnell is passing the business onto the next two generations of his family. Daily operations are now handled by Managing Director and Graduate Gemologist Gerry Kirkconnell and by his sister, Director Debbie Guyton. Three of Capt. Eldon’s grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, and Natalie, also work in the company and the organisation now boasts over 200 staff.
